Profiles and Bios

If you are a member of the 1962 graduating class, or would have been if you had stayed at Wheat Ridge High, we would really like you to create a profile and tell something about yourself. You can always update your profile with current information. Your address, phone number and email address are not visible to anyone other than yourself and the website administrator. You can contact other Classmates through the 'Send This Person a Message' link below their profile.

This page has a 'Where Are They Now' button which, when clicked, displays a map of the cities and states where registered classmates live. You might be living near someone and not know it!

Check out the 'Sort' and 'Search' functions. The more classmates that register, the more handy these features will become.

Your registration helps attract other classmates to the site. The effectiveness of the website is a direct correlation to the number of classmates who register. Registering also enables you to post to the Message Board.

After high school, I went to Mesa Junior College and Western State College.  During the summers I worked at Wheat Ridge Water Dist. When graduation came so was a draft notice on its way.  I got married to Gloria Schroeder in December and in January.  I left for Officer’s training at Lackland Air Force base in Texas.  I spent eight and a half good years in aircraft maintenance at various Air Force Bases throughout the United States and two bases overseas at Guam and Labrador Canada. The Colorado Mountains called us back to the Ft. Collins area upon discharge. After several jobs in sales and 27 years with the City of Loveland Water Department, I now have had a year of retirement.

My wife and I have been blessed with 46 years of marriage with three daughters and four granddaughters all living in Loveland Colorado.

To the class of 1962, I say "Congratulations we make it this far"
What's a favorite high school memory: playing with the band and jazz band

Lynn Boyd (Deceased)

Marital status: Married
Occupation: Retired
Comment: Lynn died January 13, 2018. This is the bio he created for the 50-year reunion:

Denise and I are living in Flint, Texas (near Tyler) and we are about 200 yards from Lake Palestine. We have about 1/2 acre and 30 + trees which have been dropping their leaves over the fall and so far this winter. Needless to say, I spend a great deal of time raking leaves and cleaning gutters. Hamish ( our Cairn terrier) spends most of his time chasing squirrels

Loretta Boyles (Deceased) (Hodges)

Marital status: Single again
Children: 3
Occupation: Banker
Comment: Loretta died July 3, 2018. This is the profile she created for the 50-year class reunion.

The ultimate joy of my life is my 3 kids and 2 grandchildren. I have 2 beautiful grandchildren both girls!  I must admit I am completely unbiased with regards to the kiddos.  I have been a banker now for over 20 years and am looking forward to ultimately retiring.  I have had two close calls in my life and am continuing to learn from each.  32 years ago I had a rare idiopathic disease while I was pregnant with my youngest, and miraculously I made it through with a healthy baby and my life.  I am so very thankful to God for my recovery and of course for the health of my baby.  Recently, I was recovering from surgery and suffered from a stroke. Slowly but surely by the grace of God I am improving every single day. If there is anything you take away from this profile please it is this. Live each day as though it was your last because you never know and well its damn fun!
What's a favorite high school memory: I enjoyed the drill team and visiting with my fellow cohorts in the lobby! Let's not forget the fierce farmer basketball and football games!
What was fun to do in Wheat Ridge during your high school years: Going to the movies downtown, and driving about town with friends.

Comment: Graduate of Colorado School of Mines, 1967, Metallurgical Engineer.  Wife Mary Lou is a nurse Practitioner, graduate of Washington State University.  Have three daughters from this marriage and a son and daughter from a previous marriage

For the past 30 years have worked as a consultant and for a private construction company in Spokane, Washington specializing mostly in gold and silver operations.

Currently working in Spokane and part of the time in Tucson, Arizona where we recently bought a downsized home in the Tucson Mountains.  Trying to spend winters in Tucson and summers in Spokane but it hasnt quite worked out that way yet.  In Spokane, i manage production of the largest low-alpha lead supply for the computer chip industry and also recovery of an obscure platinum group metal for the defense industry.  In Tucson, am working with a company that has interests in gold and silver properties in northern Mexico. I will be retiring from my Spokane position at the end of 2012 but will continue to consult for these projects in the next few years.

Places lived: San Francisco, Tucson, Spokane

Places worked: Burundi, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, Canada, Bolivia

Mary Lou is working in Tucson as a Nurse Practitioner and over the years has traveled to Honduras and Egypt as a visiting nurse.

Thinking back, I doubt if my life would be the same if I had not attended Wheat Ridge which at that time was recognized as a high acedemic school and for the counselors who helped me get into Mines - notwithstanding my terrible GPA.

Joe Breheny died March 15, 2013 due to complications of a heart attack. The following profile was posted for Joe by Tim Kellond for our 50-year reunion, which Joe wanted to attend, but couldn't due to his health. Scott Hightower

I’m Tim Kellond and Joe is allowing me to post his bio for him because he does not have access to a computer.  The information he gave me is sparse.

Joe joined the navy in 1963. He became a medical corpsman, was assigned to the marines and served a tour in Viet Nam and then served 2 years on the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea.  After 4 years in the navy he got married, lived in southern California and in 1968 his son Joe was born.  He worked for Goodyear and then an aero space company.  Joe married for the second time in 1978.  Joe is currently living in Denver and is single.  Joe’s son is married and living in New York.

Joe is planning to go to the welcoming social and is looking forward to seeing everyone.
