From Bill:
I have been retired since January 1, 2000 - Y2K was my final contract. I love retirement. I was a marginal student and a fair employee but I am really good at retirement. I have really hit my stride in the last 20 years. The only bad thing is the pay. The major things I have been involved with in the last 20 years are: Travel – See the map. A button has been placed on every international locations we have visited. I have listed the top 11 things we have done:
Roy Rogers - He was always my childhood hero. I now have a horse that is a big palomino and his name is Trigger. He is now is 22 years old and starting to slow down. That is good since I am starting to slow down myself. He is still good enough to take me through the creek, over the meadow, up the hill and home. It takes a couple of hours and we do it a couple of times per week. Tennis – I play tennis 3 or 4 times a week with a group of college professors. They are all in their 50s and 60s. I’m sorry to say I am by far the poorest player. They let me play anyway. There is one area that I hold my own and that is trash talk. I hand out more zingers than I get back. Boris Johnson – When I see him on television, I think of Dean Knight. Dean always pointed out a woman at CU that had a similar hair style. He said she looked like she combed her hair with an egg beater. The good life - I don’t know how I could be happier. I have my health, a sense of humor, my ranch, trigger and a smart, considerate and pretty cowgirl. What else could a guy want? Sorry but I am going to have to miss this year’s reunion. I will see you in 2032. |

Did a lot of traveling with my husband while he was in the Air Force. We retired to Colorado 20 years ago. I then went to college, graduated, and began a career in teaching pre-school and kindergarten children in Montessori schools. Retired 5 years ago and now do field consulting for Montessori teachers in training. Have two children and three grandchildren (grandkids are great fun). We are now traveling as much as possible and just "goofing off". It's a good life style! |

After graduation I attented Colorado State College where I met Bob who has taken care of me for the last 60 years. He will tell you that it has been a really long long time. I will tell you that he has made life fun, exciting, and caring. I have had the best two worlds that a woman can have, a full time Mom and later a full time teacher and office assistant. I went back to the University of Northern Colorado in 1974 and received a degree in Elementary Education. After teaching 4th and 5th grades I went back to school and received my Master's in Gifted Education. Teaching Gifted Education for 13 years was a delight and fulfilling. My teaching career ended after 30 years of fun and the love of learning. Nothing feels better than to see students shine and are full of questions about the world around them as they leave you. After teaching I joined my husband in his Land Surveying business. I learned that you reallly can learn something new after retirement and love it as much as ones first career. I was his administrative assistant and also learned how to do CADD drawings. What fun it was to meet new people and see a different perspective on life. Bob and I spent most of our two kiddos lifes watching soccer games and swim meets. Both Bob Jr. and Cari have been change makers during their adult lives. Can't ask for much more than that. Bob Jr. purchased our Land Surveying business and became a licensed land surveyor and Cari is about to retire from a successful teaching career. We are assuming that they will continue to be around for our old age and to help us with those wicked technology questions. Our Grandbabies visit often, play basketball in our backyard, have soccer games also on the back lawn and come for help when needing a college paper edited or help studying for a test. We know now why we had our two babies...they have given us the opportunity to really spoil our grandkiddos and not worry much about the results. I am grateful for the man who has faithfully cared for me for 60 years and the family who has helped make our lives full of fun, laughter and love. One can't ask for anymore. |
