If you are a member of the 1962 graduating class, or would have been if you had stayed at Wheat Ridge High, we would really like you to create a profile and tell something about yourself. You can always update your profile with current information. Your address, phone number and email address are not visible to anyone other than yourself and the website administrator. This page has a 'Where Are They Now' button which, when clicked, displays a map of the cities and states where registered classmates live. You might be living near someone and not know it!

Check out the 'Sort' and 'Search' functions. The more classmates that register, the more handy these features will become.

Your registration helps attract other classmates to the site. The effectiveness of the website is a direct correlation to the number of classmates who register. Registering also enables you to post to the Message Board.

Occupation: retired Customer Service
Comment: (Info from Regina Miller March 2017: Bobbie died in October 2014 from long-standing heart issues).

Gosh this has been so long ago.  Coming up on 50 years.  So much has happened.  I'm enjoying a forced retirement in southern Colorado in a very rural area.  With land and animals and lots of time to pursue my sewing and quilting hobby.   Open heart surgery in 1998 and twice more in 2001 to repair congenital problems has finally eliminated my larengitis and voice problems (except for them paralizing my vocal cords the first time).  I have two sons - 49 and 50 years old and have been able to keep in touch with several old classmates.

Beverly Jump (Jarrett)

Marital status: Married

Occupation: Tourism
Comment: After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Arizona in Tucsoon, AZ, I moved with husband - Richard - to New Jersey where we lived 22 years 2 long.

I was lucky to be a stay at home Mom and raised two children Jay & Robin.  Jay is a successful lawyer inSeattle, WA and has recently started Seven Bays Winery in Davenport, WA.  Robin is a MD/Phd specializing in infectious disease and a research scientist.

I worked with husband in New York City on Wall Street as Financial Printers.  We moved to Colorado in 1988 where I was fortunate to start a new career in tourism as a Tour Director, Tour Planner and finally a Tour Operator with my own business Tumblewqeed Tours.

After 9/11 fiinancial printing dried up in New York and tourism also took a dive.  We started a new ventur Bankruptcy Mailing Service.  We chose to sacle down and moved toTucson in 2005 where it is always warm and sunny - sometimes downreight hot - and continued  Bankruptcy Mailing Serivce.

I have recently started to volunteer at the Arizona Historical Society and they have asked me to plan their fund raising trips and guide enrichment programs.  It is a life line for me as I really miss tourism.

Who knows what is around the next corner.

Comment:

It took me 10 years in college with multiple majors to decide what career I wanted. During that time I was a ski instructor and racing coach. I then started as a real estate appraiser and my last full time job was as national chief appraiser for Mellon Mortgage.

I married my wife (MaryKay) 41 years ago and we had 2 sons (ages 37 & 41). We also have a grand daughter & a grandson.

About 7 years ago, I retired and moved to Silverthorne. I am a referee for the Summit County Board of Equalization (Property Tax Appeals), I still teach skiing & real estate appraisal classes. I also enjoy skiing, scuba diving, bikiing, hiking, and playing with the corvette.

About 6 1/2 years ago I got stage 4 melonoma. I had surgery and several experimental drugs. The last drug put me near death 3.5 years ago. However, I just found out on 06/06/11 that I do not have cancer any more.

I am looking forward to the 50th reunion.

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: Retired Retail Operations Mgr Denver Broncos
Comment:  I attended CU in Denver for two years but didn’t earn a degree.  There was some confusion about my grade point average and they suggested that I might want to try again later on in life.  I went to work at the old Denver Dry Goods, became a buyer, met my future wife Wendy who was also a buyer and stayed there for seven or 8 years.  We got married in 1975 and in 1976 I went to work for one of my vendors.  I worked my way up to a VP position and stayed with them for over 21 years.  I flew somewhere about 3 out of every 4 weeks.  Flying got old.  The last nine years of my career I worked for the Denver Broncos as their retail operations manager.  I retired from the Broncos in 2010.  In 1983 we had our son Matt who is now a public defense attorney in Grand Junction.  We’re very proud of him.  I also have a daughter that I did not even know existed until I received a registered letter from her in 1998 (it was a great letter and it was a lightning bolt).  My daughter Lara was born in1969 (well before I met my wife).  Lara’s mother did not tell her who I was until 1997.  Lara waited a year to send the letter and in it asked me to call her.  I did right away and we met the following week.  She was 31 years old, married and both she and her husband were/are CPAs.  She has since had 3 children and we see them all of the time.  We have a great relationship and my wife has been wonderful with the whole situation.  Whew!!  Wendy is still working and traveling but we want to start taking trips for pleasure soon.  Traveling by train is appealing to me.  Any suggestions would be welcome.  I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

Comment:  All you people are great and have done so many wonderful things for this world. I am proud of my family and friends, lucky to have experienced life on this beautiful world and hope it continues as long as possible. I am such a hermit, my choice, and not good at staying in touch with others. So, I am thankful we all have the opportunity to reconnect. Looking forward to visiting with my former classmates.

Occupation: Retired Professor
Comment: After Wheat Ridge, I attended Beloit College graduating with a degree in anthropology specializing in archaeology. In 1966 I returned to Colorado to begin work on my masters degree in Boulder.  University of Colorado was not a good fit and, after a couple of years, began graduate studies at the University of Toronto.  I finally finished my PhD and got a job teaching at a small school, Wilfrid Laurier University, in Waterloo, Ontario in 1975.  I remained teaching at Laurier until I retired in 2009.  Along the way I got married and divorced twice.  I have a son,Sasha and daugther Natalie (both great kids).  I spent 25 summers excavating a 8 acre Huron village which was the major focus of my research. I have published 20 research based articles mostly dealing with the one site.
