If you are a member of the 1962 graduating class, or would have been if you had stayed at Wheat Ridge High, we would really like you to create a profile and tell something about yourself. You can always update your profile with current information. Your address, phone number and email address are not visible to anyone other than yourself and the website administrator. Comment: After WRHS, I attended CU and have a BS Electrical Engineering from Boulder. I married a Wheat Ridge girl; Diane Imes, Class of 65, and we have two daughters, Michelle and Jennifer. I went to work for the Rio Grande Railroad in the Signal Department after CU; I wore many different hats at D&RGW and attended CU Denver nights to get my MBA while working in the Engineering/ Maintenance of Way dept. Later Southern Pacific took over; still later, Union Pacific, who tried to move me to Omaha after 31 years. I declined, and went to work for Qwest Communications in the Right of Way department; Qwest in turn was bought by Centurylink; who involuntarily retired me after 14 years this February. I continue to play trumpet with Denver Concert Band (www.denverconcertband.org) and Swing, Inc. (www.swinginc.org) and enjoy Big Band Jazz especially. I love old cars and am re-restoring my black 1930 Ford coupe after 51 years and 90K miles. I currently drive my 1931 Ford Town Sedan; in addition I have 10 other cars, all unrestored retirement projects. My 2 daughters have 2 kids each, and being a grampa is what makes life worthwhile. Michelle is in Franktown, CO, Jennifer is in Ontario, OR; road trips are in order, and we plan our first vacation of retirement this September through the Canadian Rockes. | |
