Donald W. Harrison passed away on January 5, 2022 in Frederick, Colorado. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, friend and colleague. He was born on December 17th, 1943 in Marquette, Michigan to Robert and Dorothy Harrison.

Don and his family moved to Colorado when he was 7 years old. Don’s father was transferred to Colorado to manage Rocky Flats Nuclear plant as a chemical engineer for Dow Chemical. Don graduated from Wheat Ridge High school in Wheat Ridge, Colorado and went into the US Air Force after graduation. After basic training Don was sent to the Philippines where his duty was special missions in and out of Laos, which lasted for 18 months during his time in Vietnam. After serving his country he came home to Colorado and went to Metro Community College for a year then joined his parents who had been transferred back to Michigan with Dow Chemical. Don then went to Delta Community College in Michigan for a year. In 1967 Don was accepted at Central Michigan University and majored in Art, History, English and Psychology. In 1971 Don was accepted at Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, California. After four years of courtship Don Harrison and Jacque Cochran were married on May 29, 1971, in the First United Methodist Church in Midland, MI. Don & Jacque resided in Los Angeles, CA until 1972 and then moved to Colorado to make their life where Don grew up. In 1974 Don and Jacque started a business in wood working manufacturing solid oak furniture and other specialty wood products. In 1979 Don and Jacque were blessed with the birth of their daughter Julie. In 1988 Don and Jacque started a business in acoustic’s manufacturing sound dampening products for the commercial industry. Acoustic Enterprises Inc. developed and achieved three different patents for three different acoustic products using the Vacu-Bond Process® which was developed by Don. Dons passion for motorcycles started at a very young age and continued through his life starting with a scooter. He got into dirt biking and racing and later on, while in college, built a chopper.

Donald Harrison is survived by his loving wife Jacque Harrison of Frederick, CO, their daughter Julie Wormell, and two granddaughters Lacy and Madison of Johnstown, CO, brother & sister in-law Dan & Sheila Cochran, two nieces Kaitlyn Schutt her husband Justin and their son Bryce and Sarah Prosser and her husband Nicholas.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert & Dorothy Harrison and his Sister Dr. Elizabeth Anne Harrison.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday February 4, 2022 at the Grace Community Church, 2033 West South 1st Street, Johnstown, CO 80534 with a lunch reception to follow.
