Roger W. Catlin, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017. Dr. Catlin was a retired physician. He did his residency in the Navy. He practiced anesthesia in Raleigh, N.C., from 1977 to 1980, and Bristol, Tenn., from 1980 to 1993. He then moved to Chattanooga and opened a pain medicine practice, which thrived until his retirement in 2009. In addition to medicine, he enjoyed spending time with family and taking care of his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Catlin; and sister, Bette Kemman. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Irene Fraim Catlin; his three children, Christian Catlin, Marisa Ryan, and Morgan Catlin; four grandchildren, Mara, Marin, Clare, and Samuel; and his sister Janet Loughry. There will be a visitation today, May 18, 2017, at 6 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
