His retirement came early, as he was diagnosed with a terminal illness and given 6 months to live. Ron lived a full and rich life for 20 plus years after his diagnosis. He and Cindy were able to take two Caribbean cruises, and travel to Hawaii and Las Vegas. He also bought and rebuilt a Classic Corvette.
Ron was most proud of his children’s accomplishments, which included seeing them get married and have families of their own. He deeply loved his four grand-daughters who will miss their “Papa” very much.
We are so fortunate, as Ron has been an example to us all with his strength, courage and love.
Ron was looking forward to the up-coming reuion. Excited about seeing his childhood friends from elementary school though high school. He was so blessed to have so many of you in his life.

tribute by Nancy J Seymour McConahayFergie and I were competitive after our first eye contact in grade school at Mountain View. It started with tether ball---dodge ball-- and any other sports our home rooms would compete in during recess or lunch. Eventually we became "best buds" and shared many firsts: bicycles--motor scooters--sports--cars--beers--minor delinquency capers--fighting--and ultimately girls (although he always got first pick,(but who\'s keeping score) We became official "blood brothers" with a dull knife and even argued whose blood line would rule--The Scot, or The Mex. We drifted apart when he joined the Navy and then found his niche with Ma Bell, while I went to Chicago, then the military, and back to Chicago In the late 90,I took a motorcyle trip out west and was fortunate to meet all his family--it was a truly memorable day. God bless my 'good bud'
tribute by Rich MartinezI met Ron the first day of seventh grade. He sat behind me in homeroom. I considered Ron a good friend all through high school. We shared many laughs and good times. I will miss seeing him at this years reunion. I am so glad he had the opportunity to enjoy the last 20 years. A life well lived.
tribute by Windy ElliottRon was a good friend. We played lots of summer baseball and high school football together. We lost touch after high school, but I was glad to reconnect with him over the past few years. I only saw him a few times, but whenever we met he had a smile on his face and a positive outlook on life, despite his struggle with brain cancer and its aftereffects. I will miss him.
tribute by Scott HightowerA live well lived and challenges well met, Light and Peace for your journey on Ron.
